Linda---Joey Brackner in his book on Alabama Folk Pottery lists John Winsett as being born 1819/1820 in Tennessee and living in Blount County in 1850. There, he lived next door to another Tennessee potter named Malaby. Brackner says Winsett's children were born as follows: Tennessee-1840; Kentucky-1842; Georgia-1844 and Alabama in 1848. This is all the info on him available. Hope it is of some value. You might do some property title research in Blount County and find out more. James C
