Elizabeth Steele was the daughter of Robert Steele and Rachel Duggan. Robert Steele and family moved to Bibb Co., AL around 1827. He served as a commissioner of roads and Justice of the Peace for Bibb Co. He moved to Bienville Parish, LA around 1849 and died there Nov. 30., 1862. Robert Steele was born ~1789 in Fairfield Co., SC. He was the son of James Steele and Elizabeth (last name unknown)of Fairfield Co., SC.
