Again thanks for the look up. As to J. A. Britt. My father wrote about seeing his father brought up from a mine, dead, when he was about 3 l/2. The year was 1907. In 1907 there was a mine accident in Yolande Yolande, on 12-16-1907 in which 57 men were killed. Yolande is in Tuscaloose Co. AL, just west of Bibb Co. Since this fits the "family story" and the adoption papers of my father I believe J. A. Britt was among these miners. I have not been able to get a list of the miners killed there. Through the interlibrary loan system I got a hold of a book all about Blocton in hopes that they might mention a mine accident. While there were accidents at the Blocton mines no one seems to want to write about them. I dont know about how to get a hold of the list of miners, but working on it . Then I am assuming the Yolande Yolande mine was in Tuscaloose Co as there is a town by that name. Thanks again
