I am not related the FORD FAMILY but have the following to share from a recent book I did on Autauga County:

Mr. John FORD died in Bibb County on February 28th last, in the 105th year of his age. He was a North Carolinian by birth, had been a citizen of Georgia about 45 years, and for several years had lived in the pine regions of the Tobeseufkee Creek. During his long life, he had served his country both in the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812. In the Revolutionary War, he served in Col. Hogan’s regiment and Capt. Quinn’s company, and was in several battles… He was physically a very large, well-formed man, erect and athletic measuring 6 feet, 3 ½ inches in his stockings… (He) was moral and well behaved, but fond of his glass, though seldom intoxicated. At the time of his death he was living with his fifth wife… He left one son, an only child, now living in Mississippi, at the age of 80.
