McNAIR/JAY families of BARBOUR and COVINGTON counties. I am trying to find info. on my Ggrandmother Ann Elizabeth JAY. I have info. that John P. McNAIR was appointed guardian of John D. JAY , and David JAY , and Elizabeth JAY in 1855 (Barbour County) And John D JAY, son of Wm.A JAY 1856. I tried to locate these names in the 1860 census, but I'm not having any luck. My Elizabeth married Andrew Jackson Tompkins (probably in Covington County) around 1870. No marriage records were kept at that time. Any leads appreciated. I tried to post this yesterday, but I don't think it went through. Please excuse me if I sent it twice. If this isn't the correct family any info. on JAY"S will be appreciated.. Thanks
