Looking for someone researching the family of Austin H. Turner born between 1818 and 1825 depending on census. He first shows up on 1850 Census in Barbour Co. AL but then moved over into Pike Co., AL.
Trying to unscramble the family relationships between several different lines of Turners who lived in Pike and Barbour Co. AL.
I suspect a relationship between Austin H. Turner and a Noel W. Turner but not necessarily son/father relationship.
Austin's wife (according to various postings) was Martha Sarah Jane Brown. Marriage date is given as 2 Jan 1846 in Barbour Co. AL.
Austin H. Turner has a son John R. Turner. There was a Rev. John R. Turner who was in some records relating to Indians in Barbour Co. in the 1836 time period. It appears that this John R. Turner may have died and there are estate records for John R. Turner in Barbour Co. but so far I haven't been able to get anything other than index information.
The census of Pike and Barbour Co. AL suggests that John R. Turner may have first been in Pike Co. AL next to Noel W. Turner then both moved over to Barbour Co. AL.
Austin marries in Barbour Co. in 1846, is there in 1850 Census, then moves over to Pike Co. AL for 1860, 1870, and 1880 Census. In 1880, Austin lists his father's place of birth as SC.
There seem to be three John Turners in this area at about the same time period. Trying to sort them out.
