This is very interesting information, to know that a Rumph migrated to Barbour Co., AL directly from Orangeburg.

When I was researching my own Danners (before I knew of the Getzendanners of Union Dist/County, SC, I had researched some on the Gissendanners of Orangeburg and noted that one of them had married a Rumph. I also had checked with the Barbour Co., AL Danners (there was quite a clan there) to see if they were in any way related to mine. One line of my own Danners migrated from SC to first Greene and Perry Counties in AL and finally on into Sumter County, AL.

This newest information regarding a Rumph to go from Orangeburg to Barbour Co AL leads me to speculate that possibly the Danners in that county might have once been Gissendanners from Orangeburg, since my own Getzendanners later became known only by the Danner portion of their name.

Is it possible that the Gissendanner's became Danners too??? Do you know whether or not the Danners of Barbour County might fit into this suggested possibility???
