One more suggestion;A Mr. John P. Johnston, 253 Nassau, Brundidge, AL 36010 is a good researcher. His rates are in line with his ability and I will state that he does good work.He did some Lee work for my brother and he did not do any over charge as some seem to do.
I had trouble finding a (F) ggrandfather and I knew that he went from Pike County to Hamilton.I was ready to call him a 'wet-back' when I found a list Whittenton/Whittington on a site. Then, I happend to find a couple of others related to him.One trouble was that at the end of the Civil War so many people changed the spelling of their name. You seem to be in the same place I was at and now I have the Whittenton/Whittington line back into about 1050!These computers, the Mormon Church and state archives are outstanding tools, and more so if you like history.Good hunting and [email protected]
