The point is, Natasha, that the heat is your own doing. Everyone within the Clan Akins Society is quite satisfied with all that we have accomplished in the past three years since our organization was founded. We strive to represent the history of our Clan as accurately as possible, though we also include the traditional legends for the value of their intrinsic interest. All Clans have these legends, which are usually based on historical reality, though they are much romanticised; however we feel that our clanspeople have the intelligence to discern documented facts from legendary accounts. We are in no way trying to mislead anyone, but it is our goal to present a well-rounded account of our Clan, which includes both history and legend. This is what makes the Scottish Clans interesting in the first place.
If you had gone to the trouble of requesting a copy of our Clan newsletter, you would have had a better idea of what the Clan Akins Society is truly about in the first place; but instead you chose to jump to your own ill-informed conclusions and strike out against us. There are over 100 active member families in the Clan Akins Society to date, and none have even hinted at being dissatisfied with any aspect of our organization. On the contrary, we often receive letters of thanks for helping people in reuniting them with their ancestral past, which they have longed to be a part of.
I have already spent more time responding to your comments than I should, and must get back to more important things.Sincerely,
Julie A. Akins
Secretary,
The Clan Akins Society
