Dear Paul,
I think that when they say Clan, they mean it in the sense that a Clan is a family and therefore anyone who shares a common surname is therefore part of a clan, rather then our interpretation of a Clan which of course is Historical. It is just a way to address the modern need for people to join others in celebrating their ancestry and has NOTHING what-so-ever to do with the fact that the word "Clan" is oh so much more interesting and Scottish then the word family.
Its true honest!!!
