I haven't seen any evidence that David Akin ever stepped foot in this country. I've seen references to Mary Akin purchasing land in 1675 without any mention of her husband.
According to "The Original Scots Colonists of Early America: Supplement 1607-1707" by David Dobson
"Akin, Mrs Mary, born 1640 possible in Aberdeen, widow(?) of David Akin, to Rhode Island before 1675, with sons John born 1663, David born 1664, and James born 1668."
"Akin, Mrs Mary, born 1640 possible in Aberdeen, widow(?) of David Akin, to Rhode Island before 1675, with sons John born 1663, David born 1664, and James born 1668."Have lots of information of the Akin family that remained in the Dartmouth, MA area.I grew up in the next town over and have have access to many primary sources.Would love to share information. I'm looking to find out which port she landed in in this country and what town she eventually settled. My guess is that she ended up in Portsmouth, RI?
