He was the son of Fred E. and Gladys Akin. Fred was born in Tennessee.

According to the US Public Records Index on Ancestry.com, he is living in Houston, TX. Divorce records show he and wife, Jo A Akin, were divorced in 1979. Found 2 children for Roland, Roland Frederick Akin, born 1953 Harris County, TX and Brent Andrew born 1956 Harris County, TX.

Not related to this family but name Akin with Bowie Co., TX caught my eye.
