Hi,
nope, it sounds like your James is a different James than mine. As mine was born
around 1857-8 in Choctaw co. Mississippi.
I found him on the 1860 census in Choctaw co.
at the tender age of two living with an
"Akins" family.
He is listed seperately but in the same household, his down as just simply,
James Isaac Campbell.
I know for a fact that this is he, because
of other similarities such as the Akins family he is with and that is the name he
carried on for the rest of his life, and it
has always been said that he was adopted by an Akins family.
But, thank you so much for you attempt to
connect. I do hope you find good news this
year. I found this census on Christmas eve
of 2000. What a Christmas Present that was!
