I am a new Akers
Hello all,
I just found out that I am an Akers descendent. After 40 years as a hobby, I finally figured out a census record for my own grandmother in 1880 and now have a lot of new families. I can see this one has some challenges.
My line is Emma Johnson>Robert Johnson/Mary E Dye> Cline Dye/Diadama (Deliliah (I have worked with the Archibald Thompson Diary for years so i am prejudice but her grave marker is Diadama)>Austin Akers (also from the diary)/Rhoda Thompson (this family interweaves with one of my other Montgomety Co Va longhunter lines)> Blackburn/Susannah and then William and Susannah.
My gut reaction is that there are issues with Blackburn Akers wife being Susannah Blackburn.Logic tells me the Blackburn has to be a result of a previous maternal event.Blackburn is born in 1731 (is this correct) so his wife should be in the same area. Here is the fly in my ointment. The will of John Blackburn who dies in 1757 and leaves land to Solomon son of Blackburn Akers.
I am having issues trying to figure out who Blackburn's father William is? Did he leave a will?
