Tks for your reply James
I know from #4. William E. AKERS married Mary BLACKBURN and descendants are correct.Jimmie Susan AKERS lived to 101 yrs (husband's grandmother).
In "Our Kinsfolk" by WR Akers p. 12 states "some historians have thought that William Akers of Franklin Co, VA was the son of William Akers of Campbell Co, VA.But this is disproved by a copy of the will of William Akers of Campbell Co, VA dated March 17, 1810, which readsin part as follows:'My son William Akers being dead.........'"
Is the above-mentioned William AKERS of Campbell Co, VA your #3 (in the message) William Akers III m. Susannah Blackburn?
I consider myself by no means a genealogist, and therefore need pointing in the right direction every so often.
I also have been trying to find documentation for William E. AKERS in the Revolultionary War - 5th Reg. VA.I cannot locate it on the Footnotes website or HeritageQuest website. Can you advise me further please.
I am not asking for anyone to do my research for me, just to steer me in the right direction.
Thanking you
Claire
