Hi, I'm one of the few from New Jersey with the last name of Aker. With the passing of my grandmother I recently realized that I really wanted to try to trace back my family tree as far back as possible. I just recently started this and I'm finding it almost impossible. My grandfather was born on groundhog's day Feb. 1908. He was the last born out of 13! His family was from Germany, and whenever I would ask what we were as a child they would answer Pennsylvania Dutch? My grandfather married Phylis Lorkings from England, she was his second marriage... his first he had one son named James Aker... He had during his second mariage with my grandmother 3 children Maureen, John and James ( my father.. yes a second son james) Aker. If ay one has any info let me know! thanks Tara Aker
