Town of Akeley in Minnesota
Posted by: Craig A. Stiffler Date: June 11, 2001 at 20:36:25

My name is Craig. I grew up in the town of Akeley in Hubbard County, Minnesota. The town was named after H. C. Akeley, who lived and was buried in Stowe Vermont. I believe there are also some Akeley stones in the cemetery behind the town hall. This may be a good location for someone to find additional Akeley family members. I hope you all find this interesting. Although the town of Akeley in MN is small, population abt. 450, It was home growing up. If anybody's interested, go to and search on Akeley to get a birdseye view of the town.

I hope you find this interesting.
