You may already be acquainted with Akeley's work at the Milwaukee Public Museum, his first job in taxidermy. His muskrat diorama, described in "In Brightest Africa," has an honored place in the lobby as the first environmental diorama in existence, and the surrounding displays show his work in cameras and a bronze of elephants. Floyd Easterman, present taxidermist, is an Akeley expert.
