Thank you for your reply! what I do know, I got from his youngest and only living daughter, who is 92 and memory is scetchy at best.. She said he came from England when 5 yrs old, so appr 1871-73..? mentioned Canada, and a relative christopher.. Ther are SO many stevens from england, as well as "thomas". no idea HOW he came to US..
She did say He came to prospect for gold and was into mining.. something abt him liking to go to GRANITE MOUNTAIN.?
I am trying to get ahold of that census now..
