Hi Marian:

Are you aware of the wreck of the "Islander" south of Juneau in August, 1901?

I found a fair bit of info in a few places, tho nothing specific re Mr.Hughes.

The ship hit an iceberg and sank, with loss of life being reported to be anywhere from 30 to 60 people.

It did generate a big headline in a San Francisco newspaper.

I won't post all the sites, etc. now(it's fairly lengthy), in case you already have this info, but, if you don't,I'd be happy to post it.

Regards, Ginny
