Hello Marian, Sorry for the delay in answering you, I have just returned from my holidays in BC. I checked my books but I cannot find any mention of your husband's great grandfather as a crew member or a passenger. There was, however, a Captain Graham O. Hughes, a Captain William Hughes and a J.C. Hughes mentioned. Any connection there with Hedley Hughes? Also, the Princess Sophia sailed out of Vancouver. Sorry I couldn't be of much help to you but I will keep my eyes open for Hedley Vicars Hughes.
