Hmmm...this sounds like a challenging one! I'll see what I can find, but it might take me a few days to figure out if there would be a reference for this one. I CAN probably find newspaper on microfilm going back this far, but they will be small local papers.
See if you can pick your family's brains for any of this:
Where was the gold mine?
The partner's name?
Was the ship out of Nome or Skagway or somewhere else? The ship's name would be great, but that's probably not known, right.
