My mother from time to time would mention a old say from here in Alaska. "Inside, outside, Morningside. My ggrandfather died at Morningside in 1907." I have been told that it was a mental hospital and that it also took in old men from Alaska that had no one to care for them. This was until the Alaska Pioneer Home system was started in Sitka, Ak., in the early part of the 1900s.
