Most people call it Cooper's Landing, but it is really called Cooper Landing. I don't know if it was Riddiford, but here are some suggestions on how to find out:
Contact the Cooper Landing Library
Bean Creek Rd.
Cooper Landing, AK 99572
(907)595-1241
or call the Anchorage Loussac Library at
(907)343-2975 and ask them to look in the book "Sportsman's Lodge Cultural Resources Investigation" by Buzzell and McMahan 1993. That should have the history of Cooper Landing and probably any previous name.
Hope that helps!
Liz
Homer, Alaska
