I knew a Gudrun Neumann in 1966/67 when she lived in Flushing, NY. She worked for Burlington Mills, a large textile company in NY City. She was in her early 20's.
I think she was from Hamburg and I believe she had friends or family in Germany who were in the cable (copper wire) salvage business.
She had an outgoing personality, good sense of humor, very attractive and was an avid skier. Her friends called her Goodie.
I lost touch in 1967 but later heard that she got married, possibly to a man with an oil delivery business in Queens, NY; that she got divorced and moved to Alaska to work on the Alaskan pipeline.
She was a special person and we were close friends, and I would also like to re-connect with her. so if you have any further information or if I can be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.
The message you are replying to appears below:
My father Gerhard Neumann had three siblings. They were all orphaned after their father died in WWII and their mother died in 1946.
His brother died of liver disease in the 60's.
His sister Sigrid still lives in Hamburg, Germany
His second sister Gudrun left Germany sometime in the 60's and never kept in touch. She got married, then divorced and we have searched for her for 30 years...
If you know anything about someone with her name, living in the US, aged 50-60 or so, please email me. It would make my father really happy to have his sister back.
Kirsten Neumann Stephens
