Am trying to locate info on the death of John C Powers who froze to death on a trail in Alaska between 1900-1903 (most likely time frame). He was a miner. He had been in prison for a number of years in Oregon for killing his father-in-law in a pistol duel in 1881. The Gov. of Oregon pardoned him and the story is that he went to Alaska to work in the gold mines. Any info would be helpful. Notify Administrator about this message?
