EATON, Ohio -- Joseph J. Rezanka Sr., age 89, of Eaton, Ohio, and formerly of Roselle, N.J., passed away May 31, 2007, at Vancrest Health Care Center, Eaton, Ohio.

He was born Nov. 30, 1917, in Bayonne, N.J., to the late Joseph W. and Mary (Pruscha) Rezanka.


He was a retired stationary engineer from Texaco Inc. of Bayonne, N.J.

He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran, who served during World War II.

He loved all types of music and especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren march with the band during parades.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Esther E. (Henderson) Rezanka who passed away on March 6, 1976; daughter, Audrey Maxwell; brother, William Rezanka; sister, Ann Lapinski.

He is survived by his son, Joseph J. Rezanka, Jr. of Boulder City, Mo.; daughters, Carol Ann Combs of Anchorage, Alaska, Diane Wolf of Eaton, Ohio, and Helen Headrick of Morristown, N.J.; son-in-law, George Maxwell; grandchildren, Emily E., Ashley M. and Ryan D. Wolf, Sarah and Jenna Cho Hee Combs, Amanda Maxwell, Robert W. (Jackie) Headrick and Thomas M. (Michele Kraweak) Headrick; great-grandson, Trevor J. Headrick; brother, John Rezanka of Brick, N.J.; sisters, Mary Dikun and Barbara Higgins, both of Iselin, N.J.; numerous nieces and nephews.

No visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 235 S. Fifth St., Richmond, IN 47374.

Memorial contributions may be sent to Eaton Band Boosters c/o Eaton High School, 600 Hillcrest Drive, Eaton, OH 45320.

Girton-Schmidt-Boucher Funeral Home, Eaton, Ohio, assisting the family with arrangements.
