I found out that Gov. Hammond's parents were Morris (b. abt 1886, NY) and Edna S. (b. abt 1888, NJ)(Sterner) Hammond.

His maternal grandmother was Sue Sterner (b.abt 1866, PA). He had a brother William J. b. abt. 1920, Scotia?, Schenectady Co., NY.

Source Citation: Year: 1930; Census Place: Scotia, Schenectady, New York; Roll: 1644; Page: 22B; Enumeration District: 5; Image: 669.0.
