Mrs. Gladys Donalson MITCHELL, age 87, of McDonough, died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2003.
She was born April 11, 1916, in Fort Worth, Texas, daughter of the late Delia Waddell and Angus Donalson. Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by a son, David Donald Mitchell in 1997, and her husband, Graham Mitchell in 1998. She was a member of Hampton United Methodist Church, where she served in various leadership roles. She served as a Girl Scout leader and retired after 20 years of service with the Salvation Army.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12 at Haisten Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Berea Cemetery, with the Rev. Charlie Greene officiating.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Ralph Crocker of McDonough; sister, Joyce Gardner of Trenton, Mich.; brothers, Frank Donalson of Anchorage, Alaska and Glen Donalson of Ukiah, Calif.; grandchildren, Zachary Mitchell Crocker, Laura L. Crocker, Christopher Mitchell, Suzanne M. Heft, and David P. Mitchell; great-grandson, Sam Heft.
The family will recieve friends from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, prior to the service.
