I'm searching for information on this ancestor who I'd completely given up on until I got a clue yesterday.
I was speaking to his great niece who told me her father referred to "Uncle Manny", and said that he'd gone out west for adventure, and thought he'd ended up in Alaska.
Sure enough, I did a broad search through the online Godfrey Library tools last night, and found Manford in the 1920 Census in Nenana, working for Alaska Engineering Company.
I don't know if he stayed in Alaska, or if he ever married. But if anyone can provide any information about him, it would be greatly appreciated! I've applied to RAOGK, but not sure if I'll receive a reply. I'm especially interested in an obituary that might tell me more about what he did and where he went. I'm figuring it would probably appear sometime between 1920 and 1950.
