Hi again,
at the years you stated your uncles were at Seward and Talkeetna both of those locations were Railroad towns, no other reason really for those towns to exist. They are both still "sections" for the Alaska Railroad. During the years your uncles where alive the railroad was owned and operated by the US government. Look up the Alaska Railroad online - they have a railroad historion
and I believe records dating back to the early early days of the railroad.
