FAIRBANKS -- A Fairbanks man was stabbed to death early Wednesday and a 25-year-old man has been charged with murder, Alaska State Troopers said. Troopers were called to a home on Winter Street about 2:30 a.m. where they found David Dixon, 26, suffering from stab wounds to the neck, chest and back. Dixon was taken to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital where he died a short time later. While responding to the scene, officers saw a car leaving the area. Fairbanks police subsequently spotted the vehicle and stopped it. The driver was identified as Adam Hamilton. A woman who was in the car was taken into custody but later released, troopers said. Investigators said Hamilton had a stab wound to the leg and had blood stains on his clothing. He was taken to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital for treatment. Hamilton was charged with first-degree murder and was being held on $500,000 bail.
