I'm looking for any information on Severn WALLACE. Several possible spellings on Name. Severn WALLIS is how it is on his tombstone. Court recordes show it as Soverign WALLACE. He was born in 1796 and died June 9 1858 buried in Lincoln Co., Missouri. He was Maried to Nancy Galloway, she died Nov. 28 1858 and is buried next to him. I know he was in Missouri as early as 1819 from court records. Our family has passed down a story of how he came to be here...it is as fallows....Severn had at least two brothers that decided to go west. THey believe they started out in Maryland possibley Snowhill MD. but that is speculation. The three brothers started out west together but settled in differant areas and never heard from one another again. One version said he was married and had one child Elizza Ann Wallace born Feb 1818 when he started out west but other say it was just the three brothers. About 20 or so years ago someone came to visit my grandfather from Kentucky. They had told my grandpa that their ancestors were two brothers who had the same family history. And that they were missing information on their third "missing" brother. They said their two brothers had settled in kentucky and that the named a valley in kentucky after their missing brother. They named that valley Severn Valley. I have done a little checking and their is a severn Valley in Kentucky but I haven't been able to find out any history on that erea. My grandfather never heard from the people again. I have hit a brick wall and can not find any information from before 1819. I have LOTS of information on their decendants and would love to share it with someone. Severn and Nancy had three children Eliza Ann Waalce born Feb 1818, Mary Wallace born Dec. 1820 and Severn Thomsas born in Jan 1820. If this rings a bell to anyone please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org
