Hi there,

I am descended of the Aitken family from Scotland and would like to learn more about them. I have the ancestor James McElmon marrying Catherine Aitken (born in 1816 in Renfrewshire, Scotland) in Nova Scotia in 1835 or so. Apparently Catherine's parents were John Aitken and Annie Reid, obviously both of Scotland but I have virtually nothing on them.

I've also hear that this Aitken family is related to Lord Beaverbrook but have been unable to verify that. Any help is appreciated!
