I know it's been a couple of years, but am wondering if you found more information on John Aitken and Magdalene Galloway. I'm a descendent of Jessie who married Robert Kirk at Cornwall, Ontario (Robert Kirk b. 1818, Moffat, Scotland). I had know for some time that Jessie's mother was Magdalene but didn't know her maiden name. Just recently I viewed parish birth records online that are most likely hers. Interestingly, on the same page was Andrew listed with the same parent names. I haven't yet found parents for John and Magdalene.
