Thomas Lambie Aitken
Thomas Lambie Aitken is my g-grandfather. I know very little about this portion of my family, and only know that he was born ~1895 somewhere in Scotland (not very helpful, I know) and was one of 13 children. I don't know the names of his parents or any of his siblings. His family came to the U.S. and worked in the coal mines of western PA. He started working in the mines after he finished 8th grade. He joined the army for WWI, did basic training at Ft. Lee, and was shipped to France where he received a field-commission to Second Lieutenant. After the war he came back to the PA coal mines, specifically working as a mine supervisor in Colver. He and his wife Emma Newton lived at 1 First St. in Colver ~1920(?). They had 6 children including my grandmother, Ruth Emma Aitken (Gearing).
Any information on his parents or siblings, including more specific dates and locations, would be great.
