Edward & Johanna were the ancestors of most of the Ainsworths who started in Massachusetts and spread throughout New England in the 1600's & 1700's. These families later spread throughout the nortern US.
Most of the Ainsworths in the southern US can trace back to William Ainsworth & Jennet ? (possibly Patterson)who first showed up in Accomack Co., VA in 1736 and later lived in Cumberland Co., NC.
There are however, several other Ainsworth lines that can be traced to Ainsworths who arrived later from England.
Now according to my file, your Richard and Betty had a daughter named Minnie Belle born in Titus Co., TX in 1875. Have you checked the 1870 or 1880 TX Census to see where and when Richard was born? I do not have that information in my file so I have never been able to connect him to any parents. If you could find out where and when he was born it would narrow down the possibilities for making the connection.
You mention that Nellie Elizabeth was born in AR. Where in AR? This could possibly help us to find Richard's family.
