I am descended from the James Ainsworth who was the son of Levin Ainsworth Jr. and Nancy Welch. Their children were David A., Levin A., James, Samuel, Joseph, Issac, Richard A.,Ann, Nancy, Jane and Mary. There has been a lot of confusion because some sources identify Levin Jr. as Richard I but all evidence that I have found shows that Levin Jr. was the father of this group. I now believe that Richard was his middle name. So many of the men in our extended family have been called by their middle name or just their initials. I have a great deal of information on all of these people going back to Levin Jr.'s grandparents, William and Jennet Ainsworth. I believe that the Ainsworths who went into Alabama and Smith Co., MS were all cousins of these men and we are all related.
