Some recent Aindows

I notice that there has been nothing posted on this Forum for over a month - hope it hasn't gone cold!

Genealogy isn't really my thing but I couldn't resist chipping in. I'm the grandson of a Formby Aindow and my father had ten siblings so there are a lot of aunts, uncles and first cousins out there from Los Angeles to New Zealand! My understanding is that the Aindows originated from Viking settlers on the Lancs coast, as did all the other Ainsdales, Ainscows etc. (I was told that Ain- is an old norse prefix for "our" but cannot verify this). In the 1800s the Aindows had strong maritime links and I can recall seeing an old picture of the Formby lifeboat crew, more than half of whom were Aindows. If anyone has managed to piece together a recent family tree then I'm sure that many of my relatives would be interested.

P.S. A very recent Aindow is my son Jay who is two months old!
