I am looking for information about the Aills in 1800 Mason Co, Kentucky. On the tax list in Mason County, dated 25th of August 1800, is listed: Walker Ails and William Ails.
Does anyone know anything about where they migrated from?
Does anyone know if this William Ails listed is the same William that migrated south to Mississippi and Louisiana?
Some spelling variations are Ails, Ailes, and Aills.
The marriage listing in Mason Co, Ky shows a Walker Ailes
married to Rebecca Stalcup on 30th January 1802.
The 1810 Lewis County, Kentucky Census, p.101, shows a William Aills. (Could this be the same William that was in 1800 Mason County, Ky?) The census shows:
3 males under 10 yrs; 2 males 10-16 yrs; 1 male 16-25 yrs; and 1 male 45 and over. 1 female under 10 yrs; 2 females 10-16 yrs; and 1 slave.
1820 Lewis County, Ky census, p87A, shows a William Aills; and p.88A shows a John Aills.
Any help would be appreciated. Barbara
