Here is a thumb-nail sketch of my family. There were five brothers who came to America from Anrtim Ireland in the late 1700's. (another history I have says only three came) The names were John, Archibald, Thaddeus, Thomas, & James. My ancestor George Akin/Aikens is not listed among these names, but it indicates in the history that he was a small child when he came over. Somewhere I have had the name Robert attached to possibly being one of the brothers, but I can't find right now. This family was to have first landed in Pennsylvania, Chester or Lancaster county. George was born abt 1786 in Antrim Ireland, md Elizabeth Ball abt 1822. They had 6 children John b 1822 md Ann Hott, James b 1830, David b 1836 md ? Henshaw, Mary Ann b 1827 md George K. Hott, Robert b 1833, and Margaret b 1832.
The family basicly settled in Garrardstown,Berkeley, WV
I am thinking George and Robert could be related. Can you share more information about your line, dates and especially the Ball connection. Lots of times families married into the same families and where you are looking for Aikins and Balls, we might find a connection.
