Three Generations of Descendants of Robert Aikins
Variations in the spelling of the surname vary within branches of the family, but so that I can succesfully index them all, I use the spelling of my mother's name, Aikins.
There are errors in the previous posting that need correction:
First Generation
1. Robert Aikins was born probably of Scotch ancestry, in Ulster, Ireland. He died 1823 in Morgan County, OH.
Robert married Mary Aettaburn on 1787 in pos Washington County, PA. Mary was born in of Washington County, PA. She died to 1823.
They had the following children:

+ 7 M vi. William Aikins was born 11 Jun 1805 and died 29 Aug 1895.
+ 8 M vii. John Aikins died 1846/1847.

10 F ix. Jane Hannah Aikins.
11 M x. James Aikins.
12 F xi. Rebecka "Beckie" Aikins. Rebecka married Tom Nash.
Second Generation
2. Samuel Aikins (Robert) was born 21 Sep 1790 in , PA. He died abt Dec1878 in Silver Creek, Merrick, NE.
Samuel married (1) Caroline Matilda Duvall, daughter of Lt Jacob Duvall and Jemina Anne Taylor, on 15 May 1823 in Muskingum County, OH. Caroline was born 14 Jun 1796 in Prince Georges County, Maryland. She died 2 Sep 1834.
They had the following children:
13 M i. Edmund Washington Aikins was born 27 May 1824 in prob Morgan County, OH. He died in West Liberty, Muscatine, IA.
Edmund married Mary D Cope, daughter of William Cope and Sarah Dungan, on 22 Apr 1847 in Morgan County, OH. Mary was born 28 Oct 1828 in Harrison, OH.
14 M ii. William Robert Aikins was born 27 Jun 1825 in OH. He died before 1870.
William married Grace Cope, daughter of William Cope and Sarah Dungan, on 30 Nov 1848 in Morgan County, OH. Grace was born 4 Jan 1830 in OH.
15 M iii. Samuel Augustus "Gus" Aikins was born 23 Sep 1827 in Zanesville, Muskingum, OH. He died 20 Jun 1900 in Aledo, Mercer, IL and was buried in Aledo Cemetery, Aledo, Mercer, IL.
Samuel married Margaret Ann Ebner, daughter of Daniel Ebner and Elizabeth Welliver, on 20 Nov 1856 in Perryton, Mercer, IL. Margaret was born 3 Jan 1839 in , Columbia, PA. She died 12 Feb 1900 in Aledo, Mercer, IL and was buried in Aledo Cemetery, Aledo, Mercer, IL.
16 F iv. Parthena Ann Aikins was born 21 Dec 1831 in OH.
17 F v. Caroline Matilda Aikins was born 30 Aug 1834.
Samuel also married (2) Margaret Hayes, daughter of John Hays and Sarah [Hays], on 12 Oct 1835 in Morgan County, OH. Margaret was born 1816/1818 in NY.

Charles married Mary Emma Graham "Emma", daughter of Jonathan Daniel Graham and Mary Ann Davis, on 20 Nov 1875 in Polk County, NE. Emma was born 24 Oct 1853 in Owen County, IN. She died 22 May 1891.
3. Elizabeth "Aunt Betsey" Aikins (Robert).
Elizabeth married Lancelot Oliver on 9 Oct 1817 in Washington County, OH.
They had the following children:

4. Robert Aikins Jr (Robert) was born 20 May 1800. He died 2 Mar 1881 and was buried in southern OH.
Robert married (1) Elizabeth (Margaret) Nash on 10 Dec 1818 in Washington County, OH.
Robert prob also married (2) Elizabeth Vandervort on 26 May 1825 in Muskingum County, OH. Elizabeth was born 1 Aug 1804.
They had the following children:
28 M i. Barnett Aikins was born 1837. He died 5 May 1913 in McArthur, Vinton, OH.
Barnett married Samantha Westcoat on 29 Apr 1858 in Vinton County, OH.
29 ii. Martha Aikins.
5. Nancy Aikins (Robert) was born 29 Aug 1801 in OH. She died 23 May 1863 in Pawnee City, Pawnee, NE and was buried in Pawnee City Cem, Pawnee, Pawnee, NE.
Nancy married Rezin (Reason) Ball, son of Elijah Ball and Elizabeth Byram, on 31 Jul 1823 in Morgan County, OH. Rezin was born 11 Mar 1802 in VA. He died 1879.
They had the following children:

32 F iii. Caroline Mary Ball was born 19 Jul 1837 in Putnam, Muskingum, OH. She died 20 Dec 1913 in Kewanee, Henry, IL.
