Norman R. Aikens WWII Army Airborne
Hi. I am looking for either Norman or his family. (He would have been born probably between 1915 and 1926)
He was in the Army Airborne during WW2. He started out in the 17th Airborne Division/139th Engineer Battalion and possibly transferred to the 101st or the 82nd Airborne when the 17th was disbanded in 1945. He would have been in the Engineer Battalion,HQ & S or medical.
I am in the process of writing a book about the Battalion and would like to have him contact me. If he is no longer with us, I'd like the family to touch base with me to give me a summary of his life since the service. This also will be in the book.
I have also succeeded in getting these WW2 Heros to touch base again with their comrades after not seeing each other for almost 60 years. Their reunions have been wonderful.
This project is so important because 17 million personnel files were destroyed in the 1973 file in St. Louis MO.I want to make sure that these men will never be forgotten and will be put in the history books for generations to come!
Thank you for all leads to help me on this tribute to our WW2 Heros.
Sincerely,
Tammy Paynter
