Hi, I have Aiken/Aitken's from Kettle in Fife Scotland dating back to 1771, & Aitkin(s) in India.
The ones in Kettle are decesendant from Andrew Aiken & Elizabeth Hugh & it their youngest son Andrew b 1786 who went to India in 1803.
First Generation
1. Andrew Aiken.
On 14 Apr 1771 Andrew married Elizabeth Hugh, in Kettle, Fife, Scotland.
They had the following children:
i. Elizabeth. Born on 5 Apr 1772 in Kettle, Fife, Scotland.
2 ii. William (1774-)
iii. James. Born on 2 Jun 1776 in Kettle, Fife, Scotland.
An Indenture was made at Auchtermuchly on 2nd September 1791 between George Morrison Clock & Watch maker & James Aiken 2nd lawful son of Andrew Aiken Tachoman of Hole Kettle Lint Miln, this ended on 13th May 1794 Ref: SC20/36/16, A James Ait k e n is recorded as working in Markinch in 1837 as a Watchmaker
iv. Janet. Born on 31 May 1778 in Kettle, Fife, Scotland.

vi. Margaret. Born on 14 Dec 1783 in Kettle, Fife, Scotland.

Second Generation
2. William Aiken. Born on 22 May 1774 in Kettle, Fife, Scotland.
On 29 Nov 1794 when William was 20, he married Mary Geddie, in Kettle, Fife, Scotland.
They had the following children:
i. Mary (1795-)
ii. Andrew (1798-)
iii. Elizabeth (1800-)
iv. David (1811-1873)
3. John Aiken. Born on 8 Apr 1781 in Kettle, Fife, Scotland.
On 14 Jan 1803 when John was 21, he married Janet Staig, in Kettle, Fife, Scotland.
They had the following children:
i. James (1803-)
ii. Ann (1805-)
4. Andrew Aiken. Born in Dec 1786 in Kettle, Fife, Scotland. Andrew was baptized in Kettle, Fife, Scotland on 28 Jan 1787. Andrew died in Madras, India on 8 Feb 1833, he was 46. Buried on 9 Feb 1833 in Madras, India.
In Sept. 1802 when Andrew was 15 & 5ft 2.5in tall, he enlisted in the Madras Army, he sailed on the Hugh Inglis on 4th April 1803 for Madras, in 1805 when he married Ann he was in Matross 113th Artillery 1st Battalion, & on Long Roll Hon. Coy ' s Tr oops Fort St George in 1806, he re-enlisted February 1831,Sgt Maj Eff.Supper 1st January 1832 aged 46.
On 13 May 1805 when Andrew was 18, he married Ann Loversuch, daughter of Robert Loversuch & Ann ??, in Trichinopoly, Madras, India. Born on 6 Apr 1789 in Trichinopoly, Madras, India.
They had the following children:
i. John (1806-)
ii. Elizabeth (1809-)
iii. Andrew (1817-)
iv. James (1819-)
