Marshall I dont and why Im asking Juanita questions since she has access to Cherokee records. Like you Im researching before removal and many Cherokee apps in general dont go back that far. If there are any records when we are researching it would be in court minutes either Superior or County court minutes. This is why we DNA tested because so many people in our area are not who they say they are. We even have matches to people who have Spencer, Robinson and Sherill and these surnames in general connect to the Martin/Smith/Shells of Burke. You researching Brown is like me researching Martin. Since the Browns lived on the border of Burke/Caldwell/Wilkes. On the Wilkes ancestry/rootsweb board a lot of good researchers on that board who will do free look ups and help you any way they can. As for Burke/Caldwell board that's another story. I have Brown cousins that married into my Wilkes/Tex/Mex line up in WV in the 1900's and I suspect though have not researched them that they came form Burke/Wilkes/Caldwell. A Lot of people early 1900's left our area to go coal mine in VA and WV.
