Re Beck:I believe that the Beck family came into Cherokee Genealogy mostly through Jeffery Beck, who married Ezekiel Buffington's 1/2 Cherokee daughter, in probably Pendleton District, SC. This is where Ezekiel had most of his land before moving on to GA. This Beck line goes back to Isaiah Beck, and much further back, to Germany. I have the docs which show that Ezekiel Buffington deeded to Isaiah Beck there in Pendleton. I also have Ezekiel's and brother Oburn's deeds. I have a distant Beck cousin (from Jeffery) who lives in CNW and has all the info. The Becks also married into my Fuller cousin's line through the Holloway's and Stewart's. My Fuller cousin in GA also has the info. The Buffington's were also earlier allied with my Abney's and Dean's, in Edgefield Disatrict, SC. Ezekiel was s/o Thomas Buffington who drowned in Turkey Creek in 1768. Sons Ezekiel and Oburn got his land. Peter and Richard Buffington were cousins, and my Abney's married into their lines (or vice-versa). The Mayes, Abney, Buffington, Harlan, and Dean families were pretty tight there in Edgefield, SC.
