I happened to get another email from my Sneed researcher in Granville. She said most of the Granville Sneeds moved south not west but she advised me that there was and the earliest Sneed/Snead on record west NC is Jacob Snead of....................BURKE COUNTY!!!!!!!! She suspects though has not confirmed he might be the patriarch of the Cherokee Sneeds. (Rolls eyes!!!)
