I was informed by my grand-farther that the our family name, Lamanque, was of Iroquois orgin three years ago,I have tried to find documentation of this, and seeing it on the list showed that there were o,17 in Quebec, my Grandfather being born in Oka in 1935, however, I have found other Lamanques as well using but the history is still a bit unfamiliar and I would like to know other details such as the beginnings of the Lamanque family and what year the name was formed, the only clue that I have is that the year is either 1721, or around this date, and it is decended from two brothers , as the story goes.
