What in the world are you talking about? What "Elder" are you talking about? I'm certain your "Elder" isn't a Cherokee any more than you are. You sound like you're going to "report" me to the principal or something. Now THAT'S funny!

Go ahead and give him my name. What possible benefit would having my name be? Does he have roll books? I'll help him (and you) out. My ancestor, Richard West, is listed on the Dawes Roll. I'll even tell you his roll number - 15743. His son, Jack, was my grandfather.

I've told you my connection. Now you tell me yours. Oh, but wait, you can't. You don't have an ancestor on the Dawes Roll. You are not Cherokee.
