Update - Since this posting I have located some of his Uncles bloodlines. Upon researching them I found that it is a strong possibility that Lew Dean was actually born Merle Lemmon, born Jan. 22, 1889, Ohio. Parents were Adalade B. Gibson, also listed as Addie & Ada, and Charles E. Lemmon. Who were married in Ohio in 1881. An older son was born to them on Oct 24, 1883, Ohio, no first name on birth record. But they all disappeared and do not turn up on any census or other records.

His uncle David Sheard was married to Georgean Lemmon. Her parents were Archibald "Archy" Lemmon & Permelia Curtis of NY.
